Fleeing Seasonal Depression

As is my annual tradition (barring any global medical emergencies), I am returning to America to escape to places where there is enough sun that I can avoid seasonal depression.
And also see my friends and family.
This year’s trip is slightly different.
My sister is a wiz at arranging affordable flights, and she managed to wangle my trip so that I would have a five-day layover in Atlanta and be able to see Meghan!
I am beyond excited to be able to see her again.
I know that she visited me just this last summer, but it was hardly enough time to make up for the three years of not seeing each other.
Of course, we have enough planned to fill in three weeks’ worth of hanging out. I’m excited to see how much we can cram into five days. I am less excited about going from an average high of 1 degree to high teens.
After that, it’s onward to Texas.
Where I might melt.
Who on earth has ever heard of 20+ degrees in December????
It will be great to see my family, though. I’ve missed them, even if I don’t miss Texas weather.
I fly out in four days, and I can't wait!
