Let's Go to Camp (Nano)

Since NaNoWriMo went so well, I thought I would try to recreate it during Camp NaNo. This was a bit of a last-minute decision since Camp will start in five days. Most of the prep I did for Nano in October still applies to the project, so I should still be good.

The main highlight of November was finding a writing routine that worked for me but still gave me time to recharge so I didn’t burn out or hit a wall too hard. I’m going to try to duplicate that for the spring season. If things go well, I might be able to carry on until I reach the completion of the first draft of the whole trilogy I am working on. (It was meant to be a stand-alone book, but at 90k words, I’m still only 2/5ths done, so trilogy it is).

I’ve gone ahead and made some purchases in support of my writing goal. First thing first was ordering snacks. I have a bit of meal prep done already, so I’m mostly focused on making sure I have healthy snacks on deck to keep me fueled while I write.

The second thing I bought was little bags to fill with little treats to act as a reward for when I’ve hit my writing targets. I saw someone on YouTube prep some for their NaNoWriMo and thought it was a brilliant idea, but it was already well into the month when I saw it. So I’m ordering them now. If things go well, they will get three uses just this year. And they’re very pretty.

Finally, I’m organising all my notes from Nano that were for future parts of the story. That way, I can fill things in as I go without having to stop to look for my notes or have to go back to fix things after.

I should be able to do all of that in the coming week and then get ready to do Camp Nano.

Wish me luck!
