This Years Gift to Myself

Every year I look at my life and do some soul-searching about what I want my life to be like growing further. Then I set goals for the coming year. Over the course of the year, I work to make my life closer to my dream life as a gift to future me.


This year my gifts are mostly focused on getting healthy and setting myself up for success in my professional life.


Getting healthy post quarantine


It’s a little past quarantine; however, the stress-eating combined with a sedentary life has had a major effect on my overall health, and it’s time for me to do something about it. Now that we are far enough out that I am no longer worried about us being locked down again, I want to reclaim my health.



Writing weekly rather than bi-weekly


This blog is part of my goals for the next year. While I have been posting bi-weekly while I worked on my master’s, I want to write more now that I have finished the course. Now that I don’t have regular productions or previews happening, I want to write more here. Partly because I want to show consistency in my writing for work/professional reasons but also because I want to take the time to write more about my life for myself.


Recommitting to learning a new language


I want to spend 15-30 minutes a day in my target language so that by the end of next year, I will have levelled up. This way, the language will be at a level where I will feel comfortable putting it on my resume. It would also hopefully give me the skills that will allow me to find work in more countries.
